Fuel cell behavior and energy balance on board a Hyundai Nexo

Hydrogen fuel consumption measuring methodologies of a cell vehicle without modifying the path has been tested and benchmarked. In this work, they are applied to Hyundai Nexo electric driving different mission profiles on chassis dynamometer. Three methods respectively based hydrogen tank pressure, tailpipe oxygen concentration, IR-shared (infrared) data compared reference method relying current measurements. addition results, installed electrical equipment made possible yield efficiency map at both stack system levels as well energy its balance-of-plant (BoP) components during steady-state operation. A maximum 66.8% is reported along with rated power 82 kWe involving 9.1-kWe for compressor. It shown that compressor 12-V accessories most consuming devices among BoP accounting 2%–3% total generated by cell. Furthermore, behavior powertrain monitored discussed warm-up phases long idling period. Finally, non-intrusive temperature measurements, short analysis conducted about impact efficiency.
